Temperament

To choose good Presa pup first you must ask yourself a question – what would I like in a companion. Do I desire a working or show pup/dog? It’s not easy to determine which is most important, but there are ways of identify certain characteristics wanted in a puppy.  At fist glance you must look for an outgoing pup with good character. Then, observe the puppies for a while and look for a bold and self-containing or self confident puppy.  At this time don't really look for a puppy that is behaving aggressively or are cowardly.  Older puppies, meaning around 4 to 12 month old, should be evaluated the same way remember stay away from dogs with cowardly like behavior.  Just note older dogs can be of course little suspicious when it comes to strangers.  Good pups will be happy, friendly and will be intelligent.

 Physical Look and Confirmation

A good pup is the one that is equally proportional,  with a strong defined body with a big head accompanied by a wide and deep chest. His nose is wide and he’s eyes are set widely and are of correct shape (slightly oval). Ears are set wide and high and of correct color (different shades of brown, depending on color of dog). Pup should be little higher in the rear than in the shoulders. His body structure should be strong. His paws should be straight and with good angles. Paws should be proportional to the rest off the body, never to short or to long. His skin should be elastic, coat in good coloring and pigmentation. Bite in scissors.
